We've had a busy week campaigning in the ward, and the feedback on the doorsteps from residents is extremely encouraging. After our action day in Harthill last weekend, we were out in Allanton and Hartwood this week, engaging directly with residents on the local issues that matter most.
Insufficient bin collections, out-of-control fly-tipping and the state of the roads are some of the issues most often raised. Clearly, there is dissatisfaction with many years of neglect by the major parties, who think they can take voters for granted while cutting local services and breaking their election promises.
Thankfully, John Jo Leckie offers a real alternative this May. John Jo delivered a shock result in the 2017 Fortissat by-election, when he beat the SNP and won more than double the Conservative vote. He is a proven local champion who has served for many years on Shotts Community Council: back him with your Number 1 vote this May if you want him to beat the SNP again and deliver positive change for the ward.
